Paris Chic

Paris is buckets of roses at the flower gardens, the Eiffel Tower and a bit of French script.  A bit of lovely French music for you.

Here is another design I call Paris Chic.
Now back to designing some more Paris Chic fabrics.

At The Poolside

Inspired by summer weather here in North Carolina, I designed this fabric collection on Spoonflower.  Now I am off to design some pillows and totes to use these new designs.

At The Poolside

Orange and Aqua, it makes me thing of orange popsicles, aqua flip flops and sitting by the poolside.

A new fabric collection which will be available in my Spoonflower shop soon.  I just ordered this collection sampler printed on the new fabric called Performance Pique'.  If you would like to read about the fabric, here is the link to all the fabric products Spoonflower offers.

The Hydrangeas will be in bloom in the Northeast in July.  Another wonderful flower to add to the poolside decor.

The Scallop Sea and my little skipper

How cute, Gene Kelly and Jerry Mouse sing and dance to Anchors Away.

I got some fabric samples back for a new collection.  I love it when the samples arrive.

It's a little nautical fabric collection, I call The Scallop Sea.  When I went to photograph the samples, and I put my little monkey RJ in his crib.  Then he popped up and I had to include him too.

Fabric, Wallpaper and Wall Art Decals

Ever since Spoonflower announced the launch of their wallpaper and decal product line last September, I have been so thrilled with the products.

I've been having so much fun browsing through my fabrics and creating decals and wallpaper over the last few months.  I have still have lots of work to do, but the funny thing is that it doesn't feel like work, it feels more like coloring in a coloring book.

You know a long time ago when I showed my paintings in art shows, I often thought I really would rather paint something to match someone's couch. Of course my peers were horrified.  I never considered myself to be an artist.  I thought of myself more of a designer.

Never did I think that someday I could actually help decorate a room with my artwork. Spilling design ideas all over different kinds of fabrics.

One of my delightful customers decorated this headboard with my French script fabric.

Guess what?  My dream came true...One of my customers who sells miniatures decorated a little couch in my fabrics.  Toni from Mostly Minis creates tiny lovelies.

Here's Toni's latest creation.

I have a few more samples arriving this week of my fabrics, wallpapers and decals.

Inspiration Board fabric collection

I have a real love for inspiration boards.  There is one in practically every room in my house.  That is where I got the idea to design a fabric that looks just like an inspiration board.

I ordered a fat quarter printed on Kona Cotton and attached it to a 15" x 15" cork board.  The fat quarter measures 21" x 18", so it wrapped nicely around the board.

I took out my favorite pushpins and a few swatches to show you what it looks like. I am dreaming of converting one of our bedrooms into a fabric design studio.  This will be a nice addition.

I thought this would be a fun place to put my fabric swatches.  A nice touch to a sewing room.

Here are some companion fabrics I used in my Inspiration Board Home Decor fabric collection.

A New Fabric Collection for Spring

This is the song that serenaded me as I created a new fabric collection.  There are a few changes in the words, but here's a version that is surely the "bees knees!"

Oh my, Polka Dots...
Speaking of "the bees knees", it all started with this design, which I am calling The Bees Knees Egg.

Here is the entire fabric collection, on the way to Spoonflower.  I should have the samples back in two weeks.  I can't wait to see them.

"A Tisket, A Tasket
A green and yellow basket
I wrote a letter to my love
And on the way I dropped it,
I dropped it,
I dropped it,
And on the way I dropped it.
A little boy he picked it up and put it in his pocket"

Seahorses and Memories

I promised to share my new fabric collection on a recent post, Seahorse Memories Inspiration, when the fabric arrived on the new Kona Cotton fabric. I used the cotton fabric with my little fish design as the outer frame.  That's Simone Seahorse swimming on a sea of French script in Tiffany blue.

Here's Samantha and her School of Fish.  Looks like a lesson is about to begin.  I found the cutest video of Seahorse Inspiration.

My daughter Ashley on her magical seahorse.  I photographed the collection on an inspiration board I covered in French script in creamsicle.  I thought it would be a nice contrast.

I will have more to share, I am still photographing them and adding the listings to French Script on etsy.  I just got back some more fabric printed on the new Kona Cotton.  I ordered the Ooh La Lah Pink Dress.

I'll be busy today photographing the rest of the Seahorse and Sea Creature collection.  I thought of a nice way to organize and store my collections.  I will share it in a tutorial soon.

Bobby Darin nostalgia...Somewhere Beyond The Sea.

Have a beautiful day.
